I have wanted my own kayak for like FOREVER! Every time I got close to getting one, we moved and I decided to wait until the next duty station and I knew where we'd live and blah, blah, blah. Then I would get there and there would be so much to do, to worry about, to get set up and to manage that I would put off my kayak dreams again. (Lather, rinse, repeat)
But Senior Jefe promised me that I could buy a kayak before we go to Japan (since I am sure it will be prohibitively expensive after), so I have something to do while he is out to sea and I am writing my dissertation. Let's face it, there are only so many hours a day you can write.
So now that we have *official* orders, I can buy a kayak. Yea!!! I want a closed deck sea kayak that is bright red. I have shopping to do, post comprehensive exams of course. Bliss!
