Last month I started the Phoenix award for military spouses who keep picking up the pieces, being resilient in the face of adversity, and reinventing themselves to master the skills required to face any challenge life hands them. Please feel free to drop me a line and tell me who December's award should go to.
This month, I wanted to recognize Anchored Away. She is one of the first bloggers I got to know (I found her through a friend about 4 yrs ago). She has gone through hell the past couple of year, most of which you can catch up on on her blog. Recently, her father-in-law was in the hospital and the kiddos thought that when Daddy left it meant for good. She swooped in and saved the day, while having a lot of health problems of her own. While doing all this, she is still working on her degree and she is a writer. I have no idea how she keeps all the plates spinning. So when I feel like having a pity party, I look up Anchored Away, because she makes me laugh and she reminds me that things are going pretty well for me and I have a lot less on my plate than she.
I love you Anchored Away! You have been one of the most wonderful and supportive military spouses I have ever met and I don't know how I would have made it this long without your snark. Keep it up.

I just teared up, which is totally unfair. LOL. Thanks, chica. You're totally awesome, and you do a damn fine job of rising from the ashes yourself. Keep up the awesome science academic stuff. I need to feel like I'm surrounded by smart people. ;)
My intention was not to make you teary eyed. I just want to highlight positive role models and guess what, you are one...snark and all :D. You can right click and save the pic and post it on your blog.
I can't think of better person to nominate, outside of the award's creator.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Unlikely, but I don't think I deserve one. I am a bad military spouse and I want to keep it that way :D.
YAY! I less than three AA! She's awesome and she totally deserves this award. And Ms Smurfette, I have a secret to tell you! You're awesome! I know, I don't usually say that to you. I kinda thought you already knew tht LOL. Ok. Well ttyl :)
Thanks Felicitas. I don't know that sometimes and it is nice to hear, but how ever good I am, it is only because I have good people standing by me and helping me along the path.
