Friday Fill-In: Snowpocalypse Edition

Wife of a sailor does a weekly fill-in that allows milspouses to learn about each other and the rest of the world to learn a little bit about milspouse. Come join the fun.


1. Since most if the country has had nasty weather, what has your weather been like this week?
Well, we had a blizzard on Tuesday, followed by record low temps Wednesday night. It was -14 when I left the house at 0900. We had a bitter cold day today, tomorrow will be up to freezing and then we get more snow over the weekend.
The good news: The city actually cleaned the streets.

2. What is/are your best money saving tip(s)?
Go cable free. Buy only what you need and hit up the old fruit bins. Sure, you need to buy so uber fresh fruit/veggies for the majority of the week, but if it's only going to be a day or two before you eat it, the old fruit/veggie bins can be a godsend, especially for organic produce.

3.What was your favorite vehicle you’ve ever owned?
Well, I have only ever owned 3 cars. A Chrysler E-class, which lasted one week before someone hit me head on. A Jeep Wrangler with camo seats and general's stars. It was pretty sweet.
But my true love is my Audi TT convertible. Her name is Heidi and she is a wicked hot car. Fun, cute and little, she is a study in fast and furious. She satisfies my need for speed. She handles great in snow and she loves to put the top down and let the wind rush over us. I am in love with Heidi. The only car I could ever love more is an R8, but I don't have $100K to buy a car.
