December Phoenix Award

I have been waiting for inspiration this month. I have read literally hundreds of blogs looking for the perfect Phoenix awardee, someone who just really takes the hits and keeps on going. There have been several great suggestions that have been given, and I will definitely keep those bloggers in mind for next year, but December is special. It is a culmination of a year and thus holds special significance. So does this month's awardee.

December's Phoenix Award is going to go to LivKit at Simply Sunshine and Daisies. I found out about LivKit quite accidentally, when she profiled another favorite blogger of mine (i.e. Unlikely Wife). Since then, I have been lurking on her blog. I lurk a lot of places. She has a great attitude, is totally giving and totally supportive of other military spouses. But the truth is I could say that about literally hundreds of bloggers. I am really looking for a tenacity that sets some people apart. While LivKit's current blog post rips my heart in two, there is present in her writing a sense of that tenacity that fascinates me, that empowers me and that drives me to keep fighting no matter what. Moreover, I think that taking something so incredibly personal and laying it bare in front of others takes courage.

I don't know that it is much comfort now, but I do believe things will get better and some day you will be able to see the value in the heartaches you are enduring now. Until that day, please know you have all my love and support.
