Milspouse Friday Fill-in: Procrastination Edition

*Note: You know you've been studying to much when you have to pause and think about whether it's addition or edition*

This week’s questions are:
1. If you were given $1,000 right now, how would you spend it?I am totally selfish, so I am going to say putting it in my IRA, so we can deduct it on taxes. You would not believe how much Uncle Sam digs through my wallet.
2. If you had to choose a movie title (a real one that already exists) for your life story, what would it beI am going to go with Tomb Raider for a couple of reasons: 1) I don't have to do research, I want to, 2) I get to go lots of cool places for research, 3) I get to see things other people don't, and 4) I have more near death experiences than anyone I know (bears, moose, rattlesnakes, rock slides/falls, broken bones, and being shot at, nearly going into a crevasse...the list goes on). Both of my youngest sisters refer to me as Laura Croft. Sadly I do not have Angelina Jolie's body :(.
3. If you were a teacher, what subject would you like to teachGive it up for Earth Science. It is the least taught/most important subject, since we all live on Earth. Plus, did you hear about the As-eating microbes in Mono Lake? How cool is that?
4. Has being a MilSpouse changed how you view holidays or how your holidays are celebrated? If so, how? If not, what hasn’t changedNot really. I don't really like holidays. With a B-day 5 days before Christmas, I was always kind of forgotten and so I just see them largely as a waste of otherwise good time and resources. On the other hand, I appreciate them because you can get so much work done over the holidays while everyone else stuffs themselves w/ turkey.
Senior Jefe and I tend to view everyday as a celebration, since both of us have been in enough situations to realize any day could be your last. I think it is more fun to look at each day as having the potential to be the best day ever, and if you go out on that day, well at least you had fun/accomplished something.
5. What is your favorite Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate) memory?
I despise Christmas on the whole, because we were so dirt poor and I was always made fun of because of it. We did have one really awesome Christmas, which I mentioned in a previous fill-in. I have also alluded to the fact that the only holiday I really celebrate is Thanksgiving
But the favorite memory of others about me at Christmas was when I was in the 3rd grade play. I played the role of basically the logistical director for Santa and the Elves as they organized Christmas (I don't remember that much about it). It seemed like a narrator kind of thing in my opinion. Anyway, it really irked me that the final line of the play was "And peace on Earth; Good will toward men". So at the end of the performance, I ad-libbed in: "And Women" at the end of the line. The audience started laughing. I started crying and walked off stage. I guess it should have been obvious then that I was destined for being a rabble rouser and for getting my feelings hurt when others don't seem to value women. It's kind of shocking too, because people who know me well know now would say I am only slightly introverted, and depending on how comfortable I feel I can be extremely extroverted. Back then I was so painfully shy that I would burst into tears when someone asked me a question, so for me to bust out with something like that was truly a shocking moment.

Don't forget to fill-in your story and link up with Wife of a Sailor.
